Sara Steele is a nationally recognized artist based in Philadelphia. Her work is in over 200 collections and has been exhibited throughout the United States and in Europe. Her stunning watercolors are sensual, dynamic, inspiring, and convey a deep admiration for the natural world. Working primarily in watercolor, her work has been published as an annual calendar for the past 30 years. It has also been used on hundreds of poster graphics, many for the non-profit organizations she supports. The calendar has long benefited the National Domestic Violence Hotline
In Bloom, a book of Sara's floral paintings, was published in 1994. In 2005, her book Blueprints for Paradise: The Watercolor Paintings of Sara Steele,was published in conjunction with a retrospective exhibit at the Berman Museum.
Sara has an enduring interest in holistic health. She became interested in Eastern philosophies and the Chinese language as a teenager, and studied Chinese calligraphy with Cecelia Chiang. She was introduced to acupuncture and Systems Energetics in the late 1980's and her interest in the subject continues to grow and deepen.
